Shampoo for Dry, Damaged Hair

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 06, 2014 ) Nashville, TN -- Vizeri Beauty recently got a 2-star review on their Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner set from someone who titled the review "Sodium, sodium everywhere!" even though Vizeri Beauty claims the product is sodium-chloride-free.

The reviewer looked at the ingredients list which contains such ingredients as sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, sodium lauryl sarcosinate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, and sodium lauroamphoacetate and assumed this means there is salt in the shampoo. Salt, or its chemical name "sodium chloride," is harmful to chemically straightened hair and it can also pull moisture out of a person's hair. All the ingredients above are vegetable derived ingredients (coconut and palm oils) that do not act like sodium chloride. Salt contains both sodium and chlorine and has been used in in shampoo as a thickening agent. Salt is an irritant and can damage the hair and scalp when used repeatedly over time.

Vizeri Beauty’s sodium-chloride-free Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner does not contain sodium chloride as they describe in their marketing materials.

Even shampoos that claim to be 100% natural will still have the word sodium somewhere in the ingredients. According to the FDA website, "The words "salt" and "sodium" do not mean the same thing, but they are often used interchangeably. Salt, also known by its chemical name sodium chloride, is a crystal-like compound that is abundant in nature and is used to flavor and preserve food. Sodium is one of the chemical elements found in salt."

The ingredients list in shampoos can be very confusing since many things not wanted in shampoo sound amazingly the same as those that are. As an example, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a powerful detergent that is will strip skin of important oils and proteins, and it produces lots of lather. Vizeri Beauty's product contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA). Even though they sound like the same thing, these two ingredients couldn't be any more different from each other. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is derived from coconut and palm oils and, unlike SLS, has been found to be safe for skin, and is therefore used in cosmetics and hair care products.

The plant derived SLSA effectively helps to remove oil, dirt and bacteria, without drying or irritating even the most sensitive skin. Even though both SLS and SLSA both contain the word "sodium" in them, they are still not sodium-chloride based.

Vizeri Beauty's Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner is not only sodium-chloride free, it is sulfate and paraben free as well. It contains many plant derived ingredients like Argan oil
