(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 08, 2013 ) San Clemente, CA -- The Disney Cruise Lines has provided its passengers with a quality experience that was voted best among the seven major cruise lines, according to the J.D. Power's new study on cruise line satisfaction.
The report was released that showed Disney received a satisfaction rating of 871 out of 1,000 possible points. The closest competitor was Royal Caribbean, which scored a 838. The average score was 824 overall.
Over 18% of all cruise lines experienced at least one problem during their journey, not including the serious catastrophes that were reported. There was an industry average of 1.8 problems per trip. Meanwhile, the likelihood of a passenger returning for a second trip took a significant drop, falling from 61% to 33%. Those who experienced problems at all on the trip were twice as likely not to return.
Price was noted as the most important factor in attracting customer returns for service, and 53% of passengers noted pricing as the initially attractive item that brought them forward to purchase.
The average cost sat at $1,628 for a cruise last year, which dropped to $1,165 for groups that included two or more people.

The bottom two cruises on the list were Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival Cruise Lines with an 817 and 810 respectively.
