Being no stranger to skin and makeup tools and products, Ritzenthaler saw a huge opportunity in the market marked by the trend of the ever expensive makeup blending sponges. The flawless effect achieved by their use was one that impressed her; however the cost did not. The average retail price for ONE of the sponges was around $20. Ritzenthaler wanted the sponges to be available and affordable for every woman and at $20 apiece, she didn't feel that was very likely.
Ritzenthaler was focused on offering a quality product at reasonable prices: something that every woman could afford. Additionally, as a woman with consistent attention to detail, she did the research prior to see which shapes of sponges were most popular. This way, to launch the company, she could offer the sponges as a sample set with each of the shapes, whereas most companies sold them separately. Each shape of sponge will be sold in sets of four at a future date, but this way, clients can test out each one to determine which is their favorite.
Beauty Junkees has since launched that first product-- Flawless Beaute Spongeswhich are available to everyone on Amazon. Not surprising, the sponge has already received rave reviews from women across the country.
