The general instruction in using SCOE 10X is as follows. SCOE 10X must be diluted with lukewarm water in 1 part to 9 parts SCOE 10X to water ratio. The strongest and most effective ratio though is the 1 part to 8 parts. The solution must be used 20 minutes after dilution to ensure the effectiveness of the product. The solution must also be present at all times until all the odor is gone. It is advisable that the point of contact is wet with SCOE 10X until no odor is detected. If the solution dries too fast, the odor will not be eliminated. When dealing with dried odor residue, the treatment process should be more than 20 minutes to guarantee result. If other odor eliminator products were applied prior to using SCOE 10X, it is necessary to rinse the surface with plain hot water first before applying the solution.
Aside from the above instruction, there are specific instructions for each odor issues. For urine issues on carpet, a blacklight is recommended to located the affected area and then apply the SCOE 10X using a carpet injector to ensure that the urine odor will be totally eliminated including the urine residue under the carpet pad. For hard floors, 1 gallon of SCOE 10X solution can cover 100 square feet of floor. The depth of urine penetration must be checked by drilling a hole in the wood and using a blacklight to see the affected area. For a ¼ inch of urine penetration on the wood, it is advisable to replace the wood since it is very hard to remove the urine odor from the floor. For severe cases which require treatment process for more than 20 minutes, plastic sheeting is useful to keep the SCOE 10X solution wet on the floor.
