About the book
When daily life already tests the boundaries of our ability to persevere, the addition of a disaster--natural or otherwise--can amplify suffering beyond endurance, and the barrage of ghostly green meteors illuminating the skies of Earth one warm summer evening is far from natural.
In the isolated Appalachian town of Brighton Hollow, all events thus far in the lives of the people are about to become tragically irrelevant as the landscape is pummeled by mysterious objects from the sky, each one containing a tiny harbinger of chaos. Caitlin Kingsley, the troubled stepdaughter of tyrannical county sheriff Leon Briggs, is among the first to discover the beautiful and terrible secret of the strange interstellar rock fall. Deputy Sheriff Rex Logan, already plagued with problems of his own, is charged with finding answers in a world that has gone abruptly dark and quiet, while each successive day seems to bring them all one step closer to annihilation.
With cries for help echoing in the static of a communications blackout, food, fuel, and ammunition become desperate currency. A winter unlike any other looms just ahead, and the citizens of Brighton Hollow must hunker down and fight for their survival: against the elements, against each other, and against the inhuman hunger waiting in the hills, more ravenous with every passing hour.
About the author
William G. Tedford was born in June of 1942, one of five children. He has lived in Davenport, Iowa his entire life, three blocks from where he was born. He dropped out of school in his senior year, acquired both a high school and college GED with the Army Air Defense Command, and proceeded to spend the next thirty years building combines and tractors to finance a wife and five children of his own. William writes for himself and not for fame. He has written 5 novels for the public and one book of short stories. Three of his works were successfully printed over 20 years ago and sold thousands of copies. We are pleased he has given Zharmae the right to bring the rest of his work to the reading public.
