(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 18, 2014 ) Houston, Texas -- With the release of their latest health video, Source Health Labs is once again proving their commitment to public awareness. This time the topic is constipation and weight gain, with the focus being on how maintaining a healthy bowel prevents unwanted fats from being redistributed into the body.

Jason Oglow, media contact for Source Health Labs, made himself available to answer questions. He started off by detailing why the topic is of such importance: "Constipation is a problem that plagues everyone at some point. The concern is mostly for the twelve percent who experience it three times a week or more. These are mostly women who are already fighting weight gain. We want to help them understand that by correcting their unhealthy digestive system, their chances of losing weight will increase dramatically."

When asked to elaborate on how, Mr. Oglow gladly obliged. "The negative effect of constipation versus weight loss is actually two-fold. Waste products in the bowel are exactly that, waste. Excess fat, protein and carbohydrates that the body does not need. The longer it is allowed to sit, the higher the probability that the body will just reabsorb and redistribute. Of course for women, this fat goes right back to the places that concern them the most. The stomach, buttocks, and thighs."

"The second problem lies with metabolism. An unhealthy digestive system can slow down metabolism making weight loss efforts more difficult. Metabolism needs to remain high so that the body will turn to its own fat stores for energy. When it is low, this simply does not happen making it harder for women to lose weight. We want women everywhere to be aware of anything that is hurting their dieting efforts."
