Dry skin may require a heavier cream with more oil based ingredients such as glycerin or mineral oil, especially in the winter. Some may not be familiar for their scientific complexity, but you should clearly notice compounds, vitamins and natural extracts that are well known and have proven capabilities. Always use a sunscreen. UV rays rob the skin of natural moisture. Also, note that a lighter, water based formula may work better in the summer, even for those with drier skin."
Along with environmental factors, the aging process depletes the necessary collagen needed to keep skin healthy and elastic.
