(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 28, 2013 ) Lake Wood, New Jersey -- Scientific research reveals the effects that salt from the Dead Sea located in Israel, concluding that one can expect benefits such as skin barrier function, enhanced skin hydration, and reduced inflammation – all from a simple soak.

Dead Sea salts are rich in magnesium, and dead sea salts were added to one body of water, and tap water as a second. One-six weeks in advance, patients were examined and classified by their skin conditions, and equal groups both entered the experiment unknowing which body of water they were to soak in. The conclusion of the studies found that those submerged in the body of water with the Dead Sea salt in it (for a time period of fifteen minutes) had significantly improved skin barrier function in comparison with the tap-water treater control group. In addition, skin roughness and redness of the skin were marked as inflammation and were reduced greatly after treatment in the dead sea water.

Dead sea salt was selected for the experiment due to the fact that it has a higher mineral content than any other salt. This groundbreaking study opened the doors for a revolution of bath products comprised of salts intended on turning the everyday, dull bath into a beneficial and therapeutic experience.

In order to meet the expectations set by the results of the experience, would using salts not from the dead sea harbor the same incredible results? Not likely. Dermatologist Dr. Granstein from Scranton, PN tells us today:

"The study reads, "Magnesium salts are known to bind water, influence epidermal proliferation and differentiation, and enhance permeability barrier repair." This means the protein content in the cornified layer of the epidermis increases, lipids are synthesized and expelled, and overall the skin is shedding dead skin cells while healthily creating new ones. Without magnesium, this process is not activated, and therefore taking a bath soak in salt from a source other than the dead sea means less magnesium and less results." Dr. Granstein goes on to recommend Maple Holistics Dead Sea Salt as an effective product to help deliver the results.

"When purchasing salts with the intention of soaking, the healthiest option is to choose dead sea salts. For example, Maple Holistics sells clean and pure dead sea salts enhanced with essential oils which have their own skin benefits." Maple Holistics Bath Salts use Lavender, Clary Sage, and Palma Rosa oils combined with dendritic salt for maximum absorption – without adulterating the positive effects from the magnesium of the dead sea salts.

Maple Holistics Dead Sea Salts are available for purchase on Amazon.com at half off, or directly from their website. Containing pure dead sea salt, the conclusions from the scientific study apply specifically toward the magnesium-rich salt offered by Maple Holistics.
